For last two months and a half our work was dedicated to portrait, self-portrait and mixing of colours. We’ve made large self-portraits on cardboard, portraits of children’s mothers on wood painted in expressionist style, we’ve made clay heads which are currently in the process of fireing. And since we’ve tried the adding process with clay last time I really wished for the opposite, an easy usable subtractable material. The final result should be reached by removing, no adding. Not easy, I thought.
So I went for floral foam and it worked wonders. It was fun, not too hard and not at all as messy as I expected. Precise forming would also be possible but we would need to use some sharper tools.
It is also very light to carry around. So if you ever had a desire to do a shopping with your sculpture or you secretly long to take it with you for a morning jog or an afternoon walk through the forest – now this is your chance! Join our happy team and make your own floral foam best companion who will never leave your side!
