Summer Camp “What can you do with an old suitcase”
Our first summer camp at Raumerstrasse turned out wonderful. Our project was entertraining, merry and joyfull. Children would gladly prolong it until Friday and we could probably really be working for another week to make it all perfect and satisfy all the ideas and wishes.
Anyhow, children made beautiful little homes and they were very excited to exhibit them for their parents on our very last day. They also had great time with each other, made new friends, helped each other a lot and had the weather on their side.
Good new times!
Studying Eric Carle’s illustrations
This project was done in one of my mini classes with 3-6 years old children. We read one of many Eric Carle’s books and had a little discussion about what illustrations are, who is an illustrator and what is his job. Then we looked carefully at Carle’s art and sleeves up and work began!
Children used all sorts of materials and everyday objects to make colourful printed paper. Then they decided what they want to make out of it and before it was dry (who has time for that!) they cut out their shapes. I helped with some drawing. Then they made animals, cars, clouds, airplanes, even books! They are cute!
